We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, including coffee and tea, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Greet Customers warmly and take orders accurately
Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and standards
Operate coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including counters and equipment
Handle customer payments through POS system and online ordering platform
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed throughout the shift
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and escalate concerns to the manager when necessary
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and inventory tasks
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
Skills/Experience
Must pass a Chicago Department of Aviation/Homeland Security background check
Food handler, allergen and alcohol awareness certificates are required
Previous barista or customer service experience preferred but not required - we are willing to train the right candidate!
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
Available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
